Fraser Mann practises primarily in the areas of technology, procurement, e-health and intellectual property law. His clients in the private sector include publicly traded companies and other companies involved in the acquisition and use of technology, and various technology companies supplying innovative products and services in Canada and other countries around the world. His public sector clients include government ministries and agencies, crown corporations, municipalities, hospitals, colleges and other institutions.
Before becoming a founding partner of Mann Symons LLP, Fraser was a partner at several prominent Canadian law firms.

Fraser has acted in numerous projects involving the development, use and deployment of technology within the health, telecommunications, manufacturing, real estate and financial industries. He provides advice on all legal issues that arise in all stages of a complex IT procurement project, commencing with the preparation of an RFP and continuing with the selection of a vendor, the negotiation of a master agreement and statements of work and ongoing assistance in the management of the contract.
Fraser provides advice on privacy and security issues arising from the use of technology, on legal issues relating to the use of Internet in commerce and copyright law. He is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario, and provides advice on various forms of dispute resolution for IT and IP transactions, including the mediation and arbitration of disputes.

Fraser is currently President and member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Information Technology Law Association (IT.Can). He has served as Chair of the International Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Co-Chair of the Technology Law Committee of the International Bar Association and a director of York Technology Association. He is also currently a Director of Three Oaks Innovations Inc. and a member of the Executive of the Toronto branch of the Canadian International Council. He is an active member of the International Technology Law (ITECHLaw) Association.
Fraser has been recognized as a leading lawyer in technology law by various national and international publications, including Chambers Global Guide (where he has been ranked in Tier 1 of Technology lawyers in Canada), LEXPERT, the International Who’s Who of Internet and e-commerce Lawyers and Best Lawyers in Canada.
Fraser is the author of the first major Canadian text on computer law, Computer Technology and the Law in Canada (Carswell), co-author of Internet Law: A Practical Guide for Legal and Business Professionals (Carswell) and co-editor of Electronic Commerce – A Practitioner’s Guide (Carswell). He is currently Co-editor of Mann’s Technology Law News, published by Carswell. He is contributor to a number of other publications and is a frequent conference speaker.
